Frequently Asked Questions

Where is this conference taking place?

The conference is completely online and will be hosted through an event platform called Whova, which will contain links to all of our speaker sessions and community forums. Some presenter sessions are pre-recorded videos that will become available at the time listed on the agenda (and viewable on-demand anytime after that). Other presenter sessions will be hosted on Zoom, and the Zoom links will become active within the Whova platform 5 mins before the start time of each talk. Once you have registered, you can access the conference platform at this link, by signing in with the same email tied to your registration.

I'm having trouble signing in to the conference platform. What can I do?

Make sure that you are using the same email that you used to register. If unsure, look for the booking confirmation that came to that address. If you are new to Whova, make sure you click the option to sign up for a new account on the login page. If you can't find it and still are having trouble logging in, contact Sophie at trackerconference@gmail.com to troubleshoot.

Will the sessions be recorded?
Yes, all sessions will be recorded, and conference registration will grant you access to these recordings (and all other features of the online event platform) for 3 months after the end of the conference.

What if I don't have high-speed internet?

Those of you with slower connection speeds will likely have a better experience accessing the presentation recordings rather than attending live Zoom sessions. If you can stream a YouTube video or similar, you should be able to access the recordings. Even though you may be watching the presentation after-the-fact, you'll still have an opportunity to pose questions to our speakers in advance or as a follow-up to the talk within our conference platform.

Who is this conference for? Can I attend if I am new to wildlife tracking?

Anyone with an interest in wildlife tracking is welcome to attend the conference! We hope to bring together certified trackers of all levels, anyone looking to engage in tracking either professionally or as a hobby, and individuals and organizations interested in how tracking can be applied towards conservation, education, and more.

Will I learn how to track at this conference?

The conference will not offer a how-to but rather a showcase of how trackers at the top of their craft are thinking about and applying wildlife tracking. You'll definitely pick up a few tips along the way, but we won't be offering a break-down of the basics. But this will be a great way to connect with a community of trackers of all skill levels, find out about other learning tools, and get a huge dose of inspiration to carry you along your learning journey.
